MTV Deprived

Was I the only person not allowed to watch MTV? I had friends who weren't even allowed to watch 'You Can't Say That on Television' or 'Rosanne.' I had a lot of trouble thinking of best and worst videos, so these may seem a little kitchy or cliched. That said, I think they rock.

This man dances on ass cheeks. I don’t care who you are, that’s great. and I had forgotten about all the little plastic butts that dance with each other throughout.

I remember being totally creeped out by that video. Did you catch that wonderful Tim Burton house at the end? Love the atmosphere here.

And finally, this. All three of these videos have sort of stuck in my head without me really remembering what was in them. This one was the most pleasantly surprising. You have to be happy for the bee girl. Who doesn’t wish they could enter a field one impossibly perfect day and find a whole group of ecstatic people just like you? Warm fuzzies all over.

And how could I forget Robbie??

It's funny, because when we were kids, MTV played music videos. That's about it. Also, they had MTV News, which was pretty informative. We were always allowed to watch MTV, as the videos were very tame (usually just weird) and music can't hurt you. Would I let an elementary-age child of mine watch today's MTV? Probably not.

I love that Robbie Williams video! He's pretty ridiculous - you should watch the video he has not for "Sin sin sin".

that was supposed to be "now" instead of not

I never had access to MTV growing up. We didn't have cable or satellite TV at my house, and I only had one friend (that I can remember) who had MTV - and she was only allowed to watch it in the presence of her mom. As a result, I've only seen MTV a handful of times. As a result, I have nothing at all to contribute this week!
