Well, I am now officially 29 years old. As my birthday was a mere two days ago, I'm going to take the lazy route and refer you to my blog entry for it, in case you're curious as to how I spent the first day of my 29th year.
Other than that, I just have one comment to share on having a birthday in September: When I was a kid - especially in elementary school - I had few friends who stayed my close friends from year to year. Each year, my best friends came from those who were in my class at school. Of course, by late September, while school has been in session for four or five weeks, it's not really enough time to have developed good, solid friendships. In third grade (and I wrote a lengthy post on this here), there was a girl in my class who was a bully - she made my life a living hell - and yet if you hunt up the photos from my birthday party that year, there she is. She didn't start the bullying until early October. It still bugs me, twenty years later, that she was at my house, partaking of my hopsitality, weeks before turning into my worst nightmare. See, if my birthday had been just a little later on in the school year, she never would've been invited.

Man, third grade was when the bully stuff started. It didn't stop for me until about 10th grade when I grew some proverbial balls. Thankfully, I never had any of those jerks over for my birthday.
