Hatred and Revenge...
...are self destructive, and I will not touch them.

Yes, most of the time that is the case, but sometimes hatred and revenge can be used constructively. The revenge of getting a good education and job when one hates the world for the circumstances in which they live (poverty, victims of racism, victims of crimes, victims of religious intolerance, drugs, alcohol, etc.). Hatred of being a day farm laborer/field hand drove me on to college/university and into the the big city worlds of Houston, L.A., N.Y.C., and, eventually, Daejeon. Coming from a farm, and the closest town having only 1973 people, it's been a real eye opener, and I never would have made it if it wasn't for that I'll show them attitude just to prove them wrong.

but a nice revenge plan that is never initiated or accomplished numbs the sting of a painful experience.
